Job Duties:
- Direct and manage the continuing legal education programs for AAJ. Ensure that the programs are fully compliant with all regulatory standards. Conduct long-range planning, policy development, implementation, and evaluations of programs.
- Manage education department staff, relevant committees, and course advisors in the design, planning, budgeting, marketing, implementing and evaluating of CLE programs.
- Work with marketing to target audiences and promote offerings, including identifying cross-marketing opportunities with other Association services and products.
- Conduct needs assessment of members and assist with the development of new educational activities and products. Recruit speakers and faculty.
- Create and manage department budget.
- Evaluate requests for joint sponsorship and endorsement from external organizations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with AAJ sections, committees, vendors and affiliates.
- Oversee the development and print production of program materials.
- Manage content development to include traditional and e-learning, plus emerging technology such as podcasting.
- Serve as liaison to National College of Advocacy Board of Trustees, AAJ Press Advisory Board, and other identified committees.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BA degree required, J.D. preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience at a supervisory level, experience successfully supervising and coaching staff at various levels.
- Demonstrated experience in education program planning, execution and evaluation.
- Must be a detail oriented leader and able to demonstrate innovation and initiative, good judgment, and manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to operate strategically, identifying and leveraging opportunities for member education by developing and leading new programs.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral and written communications skills.
- Strong ability to plan, manage, and meet budget goals.
- Strong project managem, curriculum development, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with association leaders and committees.
- Ability to travel is required.

Job Title: Editor

Job Duties:
- Format, proofread, and edit speaker papers for publication; review speaker papers for AAJ Education seminars, colleges, and conventions for content, subject matter, appropriateness, and length.
- Coordinate production of course materials for seminars, teleseminars, and colleges including creating and maintaining production schedule; assist with production of convention reference materials.
- Research content for curriculum and product development.
- Manage the AAJ Education resource library.
Qualifications:
- BA required, JDs and paralegals with editing experience a plus.
- 1-3 years experience in civil litigation preferred.
- Strong editing and formatting skills including proficiency in Bluebooking and proofreading, and zealous attention to detail.
- Ability to use judgment and discretion and work independently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work with member and expert authors.
- Typing 50 wpm and proficiency using Word and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with Westlaw and/or Lexis research.

Job Title: Assistant Editor

Qualifications:

Job Title: Trial Advocacy coordinator

Job Duties:
- Assist in planning, marketing, and preparing assigned AAJ Education programs.
- Manage and monitor individual program budgets.
- Provide on-site administration of AAJ Education trial advocacy colleges, as well as convention education and other programs as needed.
- Conduct post-program follow-up, including payment of bills and speaker expenses, and drafting executive summaries.

Job Title: Associate Director, Enterprise Software

Job Duties:
- Project Manager for migration of AAJ’s current association management system. Oversee complete implementation of association management system.
- Supervise software development staff to ensure all staff duties are properly performed.
- Develop and manage short- and long-term plans for leveraging software use at AAJ for the benefit of the organization and its customers.
- Develop and review departmental training programs for in-house training.
- Act on behalf of the Director, IT Services in his absence, and assume direct responsibility for overseeing the replacement of AAJ’s current association management system.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A four-year college degree in a related discipline preferred, but experience may be substituted for education.
- At least 8 years professional IT experience, with at least three of those years at the supervisory level.
- At least 2 years experience with Avectra netFORUM, or other large association management system, ideally in a lead project role.
- Demonstrated experience managing a software development department of at least 5 staff persons. Demonstrated experience with staff development, assessment and coaching.
- Professional software development required using CGI, ASP classic and .NET.
- Experience with Microsoft Commerce Server, Microsoft SQL Server components (namely DTS & Reporting Services) or other e-commerce and data management technologies required.
- Knowledge of the Red Dot content management system is highly desirable.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate with staff at all levels, with the ability to correctly interpret, prioritize and manage software development or acquisition requests.
- Demonstrated expertise with third-party integration of web, other front-end applications and back-end databases, and experience with website content management systems and Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS) are a plus.

Job Title: Staff Attorney

- Develop new Litigation Packets (collections of legal documents and relevant factual information in areas of interest to AAJ members).
- Augment Exchange database through collection, analysis, and entry of information relevant to AAJ member needs, including the Expert database.
- Collaborate with other AAJ Departments with focus on effective cross-promotion and development of Exchange products and services.
- Monitor and research emerging legal topics of interest to our members, brainstorm with attorney staff on improving services and products for members
